BUILDING TANKS = BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS
As a small player in a huge industry, we offer our customers a unique blend of cutting edge tank building technology and capabilities with decidedly old-school accessibilty and values. Repeat business is a staple for us, and we are honored to have many, many long-term customers who consider Fisher Tank as their partner for planning and executing tank projects. Westway Terminals is one such customer. This week on the Think Tank, we are sharing a reprint of an article about Westway’s relationship with Fisher Tank Company that appeared in BIC Magazine’s June/July 2012 issue. Today’s post also includes photos of a Westway expansion project we are working on right now, in Philadelphia, PA.
Fisher Tank Co. provides field-erected welded steel tanks and serves industry as a partner in project development and construction. Fisher provides engineering, custom fabrication and turnkey construction services for field-erected welded steel storage and process tanks and other specialty vessels. In addition to serving the power, chemical, petrochemical, ethanol and biofuels, water and wastewater, and municipal water storage industries, Fisher serves the bulk liquid storage terminal industry.
For terminal owners and operators, an expansion project is a tremendous undertaking and a huge investment. Tank repair, maintenance and modification projects are equally daunting, with the additional challenges and costs involved in taking current assets out of service. For terminal owners and operators, having a tank partner in the early stages of a project can go a long way toward on-time, on budget, and successful project completion.
Westway Terminal Co. has called on Fisher Tank for the construction of many tanks over their relationship spanning more than 20 years.
“Fisher knows and understands our business — period!” said Robbie Johnson, vice president of operations and engineering at Westway. “When we are preparing budgets for expansion, Fisher responds quickly with budget estimates for new tanks, which helps us generate a very accurate overall estimate of the project.”
Further, Fisher provides Westway with engineering upfront to assist with foundation design and completion schedules to help the company coordinate when the new assets will be available to handle its customers’ products.
“Westway has a very good working relationship with Fisher employees from the top down to the field crews,” Johnson said. “Fisher, like Westway, takes pride in developing and maintaining long-term relationships with customers. We are not only their customer, we are partners when they are on one of our projects.”
This kind of responsiveness to and respect for customers’ needs is something Fisher takes great pride in delivering. Fisher’s ability to be flexible and to work one on one with customers to understand their needs and develop effective solutions is key to successful projects. When Fisher Tank takes on a project, customersbenefit from Fisher’s wealth of knowledge and experience. The executive management team has more than 160 years of tank experience among them, not to mention the years of experience behind the supervisors and foremen in Fisher’s shops and in the field.
Johnson gives Fisher Tank his highest recommendation. “I state, without reservation, that Fisher Tank provides excellent service and onschedule delivery of a high quality product at very competitive prices,” he said. “We have never been disappointed in a project Fisher has done for us.”
